Urban Homesteaders is a gardening and lifestyle blog that is all about homesteading hobbies, indoor gardening, and some of the things you can do while living in the city or suburbs, away from country life.

According to the dictionary, “Homesteading” is all about living a life of self-sufficiency. This typically involves activities such as subsistence agriculture, home cooking, preserving foodstuffs, small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craftwork.

As much as many of us would love to give up our day job, move into the country and live off the land, for some, it simply isn’t that attainable.

And so, until we have the means to move out and live the simple life, we’ve put together this website to help show you some ways you can enjoy those country pastimes while living in the hustle and bustle of city life.
